I'm from Bangalore, India, with a background in engineering, and my current
research at Poly is on e-mail forensics. I'm interested in computer security
(specifically application security) because it's an ever-evolving field.
Once something is done, it's not finished: There are always smarter guys
trying to break it. I'm also interested in music and in reading; some of my favorite books are
The Alchemist, Atlas Shrugged, and The Old Man and the
Sea, perhaps because in different ways, they all portray the journey of
an individual to find and fulfill his destiny. I also enjoyed the movie
The Shawshank Redemption for much the same reason, as well as
Crash, because it shows beautifully how people are not fixed,
static, unchangeable entities and how it's always a mistake to judge
someone. Last year I re-architected the protocol handler framework of Apache James as
part of Google's Summer of Code '05, and this year, I was a finalist for the
Anita Borg Scholarship. In general, I think one of my strongest skills is my
perseverance, and in the long run, I hope to be involved in research that
makes a difference in people's lives. Back to People |
