When I was in high school, my friends called me "The Scientist." I was born
in Coimbatore, and raised in Chennai (aka Madras), where I received my
schooling. After I finished high school, my family moved to New York, and I
went on to do my higher studies at Poly, where I received a B.S. in computer
engineering and am now working on my master's in computer science. I've always had an interest in electronics. From a very young age, I used to
break electronic toys to see what was going on inside them. I started
learning about computers and computer languages when I was in high school
and was amazed by the power of computers. The fact that a computer can be
programmed to do cool things got my attention and I got hooked. Computer
security is a very diverse field that involves both programming and
electronics and since I like both, I was drawn to this field in which skills
in both areas are valued. Some of the other things I consider myself good at
include building electronics circuits, writing C programs, reading C
programs and diagnosing problems in programs and electronics. My current research project concerns the development of a Virtual Lab. I
enjoy doing research, and would ultimately like to work in research and
development. In my spare time, I like listening to classical music (both Western and
Indian), watching documentaries (especially ones about science, nature, and
religion), building small electronics gadgets, and collecting old
microprocessors and electromechanical devices. I'm also very interested in
learning about yoga and its values and I occasionally go to yoga classes. My
favorite book is Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda.
This is an awesome book, and though I read it only once a year ago, I can
remember the contents as if I read it yesterday. I can tell that this book
has made an everlasting impression on me, and it has definitely helped
motivate me to learn more about yoga. Back to People |
